About

Barbara Brock has always had a passion for organization at her core. After a background of Interior Design In the 1990’s, she transitioned into Professional Organizing in 2001 and founded the company A Proper Place, which focused on professional organizing. During this time, she developed innovative products centered on organization, including an early addressing and note-taking system—an invention that preceded the Palm Pilot and was ultimately sold to the At-A-Glance company.

Upon combining her skills of design and organizing, Barbara then transitioned into the field of home staging in 2003, Among her many achievements, she earned the recognition of Barbara Corcoran, founder of Corcoran Group Real Estate, who became a strong advocate for A Proper Place. Corcoran valued not only the company’s staging expertise but also the rare blend of courtesy, graciousness, and flexibility that Barbara mandated as part of the company’s core values.

Continuing to follow her passion for invention, Barbara holds two patents for award-winning makeup organizing products. These systems are designed for durability and long-term market impact. In 2016, she launched Beauty & The Box, introducing the innovative Traveler, a first-of-its-kind cosmetic organizer designed for travel. Her second product, designed for home use, is set to revolutionize the beauty industry.

Originally from Texas, Barbara earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University. She later pursued a Design Certificate from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she relocated in 1989.
