Decluttering

Decluttering is a great way to simplify your living space and reduce the stress of excess stuff.

  1. Start small: begin with a small area or category, like a drawer or a closet, to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
  2. Sort and categorize: divide items into categories such as keep, donate, recycle and trash.
  3. Set a schedule
  4. Be honest with yourself – do I need or love an item? If not, consider letting it go.
  5. The goal is to live with your things that mean the most to you.  
  6. Priorities change – what is important today may not be important tomorrow.
  7. Store the items which were “most important” into memorabilia.
